The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) 2021 EEO-1 Component data collection is now open! Employers have until Tuesday, May 17, 2022, to submit last year’s data; however, the EEOC strongly encourages filers to begin filing as soon as possible to meet this deadline.

This year, the EEOC has added a Filer Support Teams Message Center, which allows you to submit your requests for assistance, update requests with new information, cancel requests and track the status of their requests.

Beginning with the 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 Data Collection, all filer inquiries must be submitted through the new Filer Support Team Message Center. To submit an inquiry, filers must use the EEO-1 Component 1 Online Filing System.
To file your EEO-1 Component 1 data or submit an inquiry, create a user account with the “Company ID” and “PIN,” which was provided to you via postal letter for previous filers or at registration for all new filers.

The 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 Online Filing System offers you two options for submitting your 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 reports(s). When filing, you can:

  • Enter data into a secure web portal directly, or
  • Upload data files using an EEOC-approved template.

The EEO-1 Component 1 Online Filing System has been updated to improve usability and system functionality. However, data elements and features are consistent with past EEO-1 Component 1 data collections.

Remember, the EEO-1 Component 1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, to submit workforce demographics including data by race/ethnicity, sex, and job categories.
